Parents-Teacher Conference (PTC). The usual stuffs - discuss how their child is performing in class, behaviour and academic wise. I was so tired that day. I faced 26 parents. I was so glad I had Ibu Tessa. She was my translator that day. I need one, of course. Why? I don't speak Bahasa (Indonesian language). It's funny sometimes, you know, how the conversation flows - English to Bahasa and then Bahasa to English. I have like only 4 parents who can speak English well but everything went well.

In the school teachers' lounge. We are in our Friday uniform (I hate the colour). Oh, that's my friend, Girlie, with me.

Something new at school - celebration of teachers' and staff 's birthday! And this one, it's the July-August birthday celebration. See the number of candles on the cake? That represents the number of celebrants. Sing ... blow ... cut ... eat ...

It's only once in a year that we have this special day for us. Well, the kids did make it special. That's my Grade 4 on stage. They rendered a wonderful poem entitled "Our Teacher, Our Friend".

Teachers listen ... kids are performing on stage. Here are the Kanaan Global School Primary Teachers. They are not only great talkers in class but great listeners, too. Don't you think? And you know, just for the record, they call themselves KGS Idols. Believe it or not ...

World Teachers' Day, October 5, 2006. A quick pose ... 1, 2, 3 ... Pretty! Just see how happy and proud we are to be TEACHERS. (Let me introduce you to the pretty ladies - from left - April, Nadia, Girlie, Jessica, Linny and Hema). "Mirror, mirror on the wall who is the prettiest of them all? "

I really don't have any talent in drawing. Hats were given to us and we have to decorate them ourselves. Here I am starting to ... well, I drew flowers on it. In the end, I can't even convince myself its pretty but the kids can't stop saying how pretty my hat is (maybe just shy to say ... "Ms Jessica, it doesn't look so good!") I am their teacher so they have to patronise me. Don't you think?

We went around Pasir Mukti - plantation and breeding. It's quite a nice place but just so pretty hot out there. Teachers???? Well, got tired and hungry first than the students. Need to relax a bit and prepare for the afternoon activity. What activity, u asked? Mud ...

This one ... just getting ready to leave school. Kids just can't wait. Well, you have to remind them a thing or two ... it's a three-hour drive from Jakarta.

September 30, 2006, Saturday. A day my class has been looking forward to. We planned to go to Faber-Castell for the educational field trip but it was cancelled and we ended up coming to Pasir Mukti in Bogor, Jakarta. The place was so great (well, for the kids) ... The picture says how much they loved it!
